Our Empowerdance New Zealand courses have been curated for students and professionals wishing to level up their training and expertise.

Whether you're a high school student who has spent years dedicated to dance, or a teacher who has been working in the industry and is ready to formalise your expertise, you've come to the right place.

COURSE DELIVERY

Students will study in a hybrid model combining:

  • Face-to-face intensives in New Zealand (September 2026 and April 2027)

  • Live Zoom sessions with Empowerdance trainers and assessors

  • Self-paced learning via your online student portal

Your theory classes are delivered online through our virtual classroom with experienced Empowerdance trainers and assessors, wherever you are in New Zealand.

Assessments are submitted through your personal online portal, Cloud Assess, using your secure login.

You'll need a reliable internet connection to access your learning materials and online resources throughout your studies.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

If you're completing a Certificate III in Assistant Dance Teaching or a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management, you'll also work alongside a dance teacher in your preferred studio to gain real, practical teaching experience.

These teachers become your mentors, providing one-on-one coaching and guidance that builds the hands-on skills needed to become genuinely employable long term.

ENROLMENT & PRICING

Empowerdance is committed to making quality dance education accessible to passionate dancers and teachers across New Zealand, and we offer flexible payment options tailored to individual circumstances. We are always happy to have that conversation.

Students will need a minimum of three years of prior dance experience.

To secure your place, a deposit is required at the time of enrolment. Course fees can then be paid in advance by the term, or in weekly or fortnightly instalments paid two weeks ahead.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

In some cases, students may be able to apply for RPL if they have previously achieved the learning outcomes for an accredited unit through Nationally Recognised Training. Empowerdance will offer RPL for all units where there is enough evidence to support the application.

The availability of RPL will depend on the students’ experience, qualifications and evidence as well as relevant training package guidelines.

Students will be informed in writing with the results of the RPL application prior to the commencement of the relevant course session.
